The Malachite Fortress is a structure built into the tunnels and caverns under Cauldron, and was formerly defended by Zenith Splintershield for the defense of the city from the Underdark. However, Zenith left and never returned, and sometime in the last year or two, the Stormblades caved in the last tunnels that connected the fortress to the Underdark.
