Pomarj

The Pomarj or Orcish Empire of the Pomarj used to be part of the Principality of Ulek, but between CY461 and the present day the Pomarj has fallen under a number of swords. Today, it is ruled by a charismatic (by Orcish standards) leader named Turrosh Mak who took the Pomarj and a large portion of what was the Principality of Ulek, right up to the imposing Lortmil Mountains.

Since CY586 there has been an uneasy abatement of conflict punctuated by periods of gaining and re-taking ground by both sides. The Ulek States and Mak's Pomarj continue to build their forces in preperation for future conflict. The Orcs have been pushed back as far as the Jewel River in most areas.

The Pomarj is probably the most open melting pot of races in the Flanaess. There are still some dwarven miners of Highport; orcish barbarians and their goblinoid cousins from deep inside the Drachensgrab Hills are the muscle of the realm near the capitol of Stoneheim; humans are common throughout, and the black market the human pirates run has been the backbone of the Pomarj economy; there are even reports of a few drow being spotted in Highport and Blue.
