The Red Shade is a mysterious theif in Verbobonc who steals from wealthy merchants and nobles, and is rumored to give the stolen money to the poor. Joshua Trueshot managed to recognize a member of the city guard who later hired Than Investigations as being the Red Shade.
The Red Shade is so called because he wears a dark red-trimmed hooded cloak and he is able to dissapear from his crime scenes with unnatural ease. He also carries a whip at his side, which he is rumored to be able to weild with super-human accuracy.
He was also observed to perform super-human feats of leaping from rooftop to rooftop. It was speculated at the time that any of a number of common magical devices could provide him with this capability.
