Saturnalia DKP is a DKP system introduced by the guild, Saturnalia of Norgannon. The system is similar to Zero-sum DKP systems, in that it involves a fixed amount of DKP being assigned to all party members and no lower-limit for DKP required to bid.

Assigning DKP

When a member requests an item, they get it unless another member with more DKP also requested it. Items always go to the highest DKP total member that requested them unless the item cannot be used by that member. When a member cannot use an item, they always lose to the highest DKP total member that did request the item. If no requestors can use an item, then it is given to the highest DKP total member.

At the time that an item is distributed the winner subtracts the item's DKP cost from their total and all other party members add 1/2 of the cost to their totals (assuming a party of 3, otherwise the total is evenly divided among the remaining players).

The negative DKP dance

Any party member that drops below 0 DKP (or subtracts from an already negative total) must immediately equip their RP set (if they have one) and /dance for at least 30 seconds or until a combat begins. Appropriate comments from the other party members are encouraged at this point.

Statue climbing

Any party member who climbs to the top of a statue within a dungeon instance that is taller than any party member does not have to pay DKP for their next drop, but each member may only gain this advantage once per instance.

All pass

If everyone passes on an item, then it is offered up for off-spec sets and/or DE. No DKP is used or gained for such items.

Learning content

The party leader will inform the party of runs that are considered "content learning". In this case, all party members will be given 1 DKP for each trash fight that is won and 5 DKP for each boss fight that is won. Repair costs will also be offered from the guild bank, not that you can't just repair off of the guild bank anyway, but we're being nice here, so back off!

Above all, have fun

DKP should never be overly serious, so anyone who feels oppressed by the complexity of our DKP system can feel free to transfer off-server or simply bribe the guild leader with flat food.
