Talk:Chicken soup for the sick
From AJS.COM
I came from the /. discussion, but I saw your chicken soup for the sick recipe. I differ a bit. I use pequin peppers and lemongrass in a recipe I was given as Indonesian chicken soup. The capsaisin(sp) in the peppers seems to have an expectorant effect and the lemongrass (crushed under a rolling pin or knife) seems to ameliorate the hot bite. Oh, they float and you can remove them from the finished product.Markle 04:15, 6 January 2007 (EST)cheers

Changes
I reverted some changes that would have, for example, resulted in instructions to cook the pasta/rice beforehand. This would result in starch ingredients that did not thicken the soup and absorb the flavor of the broth. That's not really how I do it, though it's a fine alternative. Feel free to add a section at the bottom with alternative approaches, though. -ajs 16:26, 23 April 2007 (EDT)
